About the Event

Join us for a spring garden presentation where you will learn how to improve your edible garden by harnessing your soil fertility! With Fran of Heirloom Soul Florals, you will learn the basic tenets of starting a new garden, all about the Soil Food Web, and the exact soil prep and organic fertilizing practices it takes to grow an amazing, healthy backyard garden.

This presentation is appropriate for both novice and seasoned gardeners. You will receive a list of our best gardening resources, tools, supplies and organic fertilizers to help you on your gardening journey.

After the presentation, you can opt to stay afterward and walk through Heirloom Soul Florals flower farm with Fran, where she will show examples of her soil prep and organic growing techniques that are applicable to your home veggie garden.

About the Presenter: Fran Parrish of Heirloom Soul Florals has been growing edible plants, and teaching others how to grow them, since 2012. Before starting her flower farm in Lockport, she worked on urban farming projects in Detroit and Chicago. During this time, she grew over 175 organic vegetable, fruit and herb gardens, all while teaching hundreds of individuals how to grow alongside her. While she lusts for flowers, garden education still speaks to her soul.
