Beekeeping Winterization Class

Taught by Tara and Jeff Hahn from Hahn's Honeybee Haven. The Hahn's have a tried and tested winterization method developed over many years of bee keeping here in Western New York. We all know that winters here can be cold and long, so having a strong winterization method to protect your colonies and give them the best possible chance is essential. The Hahns will be covering the following topics in this interactive class:

• Fall, winter, and early spring feeding and proper feed ratios and recipes

• "Right-sizing" your hives for winter to match colony populations

• Late season mite control

• Hive wraps and quilt boxes; insulation and increased ventilation to combat moisture issues during our long, harsh winters

• When it's safe to check on your ladies
